I’ve been busy. I’ve been sick. But I’ve been published!
The September issue of Seahorse Rodeo Folk Review is now up. They haven’t posted my bio page yet, but they haven’t added to that in some time. In fact, the last four they did post don’t seem to be loading properly, so I’m guessing they’re having some issues with the page. No worries. I have a writing credit to add to the poems that were published in Inscape a few years back. So – yay!
But wait, there’s more!
Daikaijuzine has accepted “Fool’s Gold” for publication in their December issue. That’s right. Sent six stories out, and the score now stands at two acceptances and one pass. (Seriously, I wasn’t expecting an acceptance from Asimov, but I had to try.) Three stories are still out in the world waiting for a response. If just one more is accepted, that’s a 50% acceptance rate. I can certainly live with that.
And let’s not forget the 24-hour Short Story contest. It’s been five weeks, and they announce the winners in six, so one week to go. I feel especially confident on that one. Nobody else is likely to have written a story from the POV of a pair of pants. Especially a horror story. They wanted outside the box. I believe I gave it to them.
You may remember awhile back I outlined my grand scheme for publishing domination. I achieved Step 1 (write a bunch of short stories and send them out), and step 2 (get at least three or four of them published) is now well on its way. Ah, but I have news of step 3 (start a novel).
We are cookin’, baby. The novel is coming along nicely. Granted, I’ve been sick as a dog for the past week and lost a little momentum, but I’m halfway through chapter 4 and hope to get through chapter 5 by the end of the week.
It’s going to be epic.
Well, not epic. But pretty darn good, I think.
I feel awesome. I have the strong feeling that I won’t have to go as far as step 7 in the plan after all. Don’t know what I was going to do with all those underpants anyway.
